Springfield woman dies from crash on Spangler Road

A fatal crash occurred around 4:30 p.m. Saturday on Spangler Road, south of Lower Valley Pike, according to the Springfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

A 2004 Pontiac Grand Am driven by Tayler C. Cole, 22, of Springfield, was traveling south on Spangler Road when she drove off the right side of the roadway, over-corrected and lost control. The car then side-swiped a tree and struck a second tree head-on.

Cole was transported to Miami Valley Hospital with life-threatening injuries. She succumbed to her injuries a short time later.

The patrol’s Springfield Post, along with Bethel Twp. Fire and EMS assisted at the scene that closed Spangler Road for about an hour.

The crash remains under investigation.
