MCRD reported that a complainant called and said that the vehicle flipped after hitting a pole and the occupants ran, but when officers arrived the vehicle was upright. The SUV has struck two poles, uprooting one, officials said.
A man and a woman were described fleeing the crash toward a nearby apartment complex.
Officers notified area hospitals to be on the lookout for people with injuries from a crash, and contacted DP&L about the damaged poles.

Police are investigating after an SUV struck a light pole at the intersection of Cornell Drive and North Gettysburg Avenue, leaving it broken at the base.

Our crew on scene reported that there was a Subaru with front-end damage and a light pole lying on its side, with parts of the shattered base still sticking out of the ground.
Injury information was not immediately available.
