Dec. 9-16 is the busiest time for customers shipping Christmas gifts, while Dec. 16-21 is the busiest time for deliveries.

According to Ken Strickland, Xenia Postmaster, today is a big day for Army Post Office and military mail, as this is the last day to send mail via Priority service and arrive by Christmas. Domestically, Priority mail should be sent by Dec. 21 and Express mail by Dec. 23, he said.

Overall, Strickland said that customers should be patient.

“Lines will be long at the windows,” he said. “Try to be as patient as you can, but if you can get your stuff in the mail by the deadlines the postal service should have no problem getting your gifts to your loved ones by Christmas.”
