Traffic stop leads to $16K in drugs in Shelby County

Two Kentucky men are facing felony drug charges, after Ohio State Troopers say the found drugs during a traffic stop.

Troopers say more than $16,000 worth of pills and marijuana were found during the stop in Shelby county last week.

Troopers said the driver was speeding on I-75, and when they pulled over the vehicle, they could smell marijuana.

The driver, identified by troopers as 27-year-old Timothy Massey, and the passenger, 26-year-old Travis Kordell, were taken into custody.

If convicted, they could face up to 12 years in prison and thousands of dollars in fines.
