“Due to the devastation of the Memorial Day tornadoes and the hardship that has been placed upon those citizens of Trotwood who were directly affected, the city manager has recommended that the city of Trotwood offer relief to those citizens most severely impacted by temporarily waving water, sewer and refuse fees,” said Quincy Pope, city manager.
The waivers are in an effort to reduce the burden of property owners from paying zoning fees to repair or rebuild structures damaged by the recent tornado.
Water and sewer customers must complete an application to suspend the meter reading, and that can be obtained from the utility billing office.
The city will be notified and billing of water and sewer services will be suspended retroactively from May 1, 2019, until the property has been deemed habitable and services can resume.
Those who wish to suspend trash billing can complete the necessary form that is found in the utility billing office. The fees will be waived from June 1, 2019, through the date the trash service is reactivated.
Residents and businesses can call city offices at 937-837-7771 with questions and concerns.
