Troy man accused in pursuit with infant in car

A Troy man faces child endangering charges following a high speed pursuit that started in Troy Tuesday evening.

Matthew Dunlap Jr., 20, was arrested following the chase that started near South Walnut and East Canal streets in downtown Troy.

Dunlap crashed into the cement dividing wall on I-75 near Tipp City, which ended the pursuit.

A 4-month-old was inside the car and was turned over to Miami County Children’s Services. The baby was checked by medics at the scene before being released.

Other charges included failure to comply to a lawful order, two counts of theft and unlawful restraint.

Dunlap was scheduled to appear before a judge in Miami County Municipal Court this morning via video, but he refused.

He is currently being held in jail without bond.
