Darke County traffic stop leads to 2 arrests; suspected drugs and loaded gun seized

A traffic stop for a suspicious vehicle led to the arrest of two people and the confiscation of suspected meth amphetamine, marijuana and a loaded firearm, according to a release from the Ansonia Police Department.

Police stopped the vehicle around 8:45 p.m. and found what appeared to be chemicals and other items normally used to make meth inside the vehicle.

A drug trained deputy checked the items and determined them safe and not drug producing paraphernalia.

Two individuals were arrested and booked in the Darke County Jail.

The Ansonia Police Department is still investigating the incident.

A vehicle in Ansonia is being checked by authorities to as a possible mobile meth lab, according to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.

A fire crew has been dispatched to Third and East Canal streets to check out the report, which was made about 9:15 p.m.

Sheriff’s dispatch had no other details about the investigation. We will update this developing report as we learn more.
