Sewer plant transfer hearing set

The Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana Regional Council of Governments is considering an amendment to the OKI Regional Water Quality Management Plan prepared under Section 208 of the Federal Water Pollution Control Act Amendments of 1972.

The amendment would recognize the transfer of the Village of Waynesville’s wastewater treatment plant and collection system to Warren County, thereby dissolving the Waynesville wastewater facility planning area and its management by the Village and including the area in the Caesar Creek facility planning area managed by Warren County. This transfer has been requested by both the village and the county.

A public hearing on the proposed amendment is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 28, in the Waynesville Village Council Chambers, 1400 Lytle Rd.

More detailed information about the proposed amendment is available for review on OKI’s website at www.oki.org or through Jane Wittke at the OKI office, 720 East Pete Rose Way, Suite 420, Cincinnati. Anyone who wants to provide comments on the proposed amendment to OKI’s WQM plan should attend the public hearing on May 28 or submit comments in writing no later than the close of business on June 1.
