Polls show the majority of people think NFL players should stand for the national anthem before football games.

The issue remains at the forefront of the national conversation. But the backlash of President Trump’s statement attacking NFL players for their protests led to the largest number of players taking the knee or standing with arms linked in solidarity for Sunday games during the “Star Spangled Banner.”

We asked, and you answered the question: “Should NFL players be required to stand during the national anthem?”

  • 69 percent: Yes. It's a sign of respect
  • 23 percent: No. It's free speech

  • 8 percent: It doesn't make a difference
