Longtime Butler County restaurant announces plans to close

Angilo’s Pizza at 2269 Millville Ave. Hanover Twp., which was launched three decades ago, announced on Sunday it would close May 25.

“Want to thank all of our awesome customers who have supported us these five years, made way more friends than enemies,” the restaurant’s Facebook message reads. “God bless you all.”

Angilo’s Pizza shut down for two years in 2009, but reopened in 2011, according to owner Norm Bolling, who purchased the business in 2013.

He said his planned closure of the business is due to health and lease issues.

Bolling said he unsuccessfully attempted to relocate Angilo’s Pizza to another part of town to allow for sit-down dining and increase revenue enough to allow him to hire someone to run the business.

“The last year we’ve not been able to find a place that fits within our budget,” he said. “Hopefully, someone rides in on a white horse between now and May 25 and buys it.”

For those looking to do so, Angilo’s Pizza is “priced to move,” Bolling said. Those interested may call the shop at 513-863-7571 and ask for Norm or Diane Bolling.

“I’d really prefer not to close it,” Bolling said.

The community-focused business has pizza ready and waiting for area mail carriers each Saturday and provides pizza twice each month to Queen of Peace School on Millville Avenue for “pizza Friday,” Bolling said.
