Man Arrested, Accused Of Robbing Springfield Kroger

Deputies in Clark County said a man was arrested early Monday morning after he allegedly robbed a Kroger store. The incident happened at the store located on East Main Street in Springfield around 2:30 a.m.

Investigators said Johnathan Stump, 22, of Springfield, allegedly put two cans of beer down his pants, and then while paying for a bag of chips, he took out a pocket knife and threatened a cashier.

Deputies said store security approached Stump. They said he folded the knife but kept it in his hand. Investigators said a struggle broke out between Stump and store security, but ended in the parking lot.

Authorities said as Stump was brought back into the store, he allegedly exposed himself to employees and made threats that he would get even with employees.

According to deputies, a small amount of marijuana was found on Stump as he was taken to jail.

Stump was charged with aggravated robbery, two counts of intimidation, public indecency and drug abuse.
