Grice was convicted and found guilty on May 3 of three counts of aggravated vehicular homicide and one count of failure to stop after a accident.
Montgomery County prosecutors said Grice was high on marijuana when he slammed into the back of a Jeep stopped at a red light at the intersection of Wilmington Pike and Smithville Road in Kettering.
27-year-old Chad Cross was on his way to work when his Jeep was catapulted 100 feet in to the intersection. He died later at a local hospital. Grice fled the scene but was arrested later by Kettering Police.
Prosecutor Mathias Heck said, “This is another example of the tragic consequences of a defendant making the reckless decision to drive while impaired. This victim, who was simply on his way to work in the morning, lost his life due to the poor judgment of the defendant.”
