Middletown police responded to a local shopping center after they were called in reference to a rape. The girl was “very emotional” and was crying when she was interviewed at Atrium Medical Center, according to the report.

She told police that she and Gomez ate breakfast near the Towne Mall, then went shopping. They went back to his apartment and played video games, she told police.

They started kissing and she was OK with that, she told police. Then Gomez took off her clothes and his clothes and sexually assaulted her, she told police. She told him several times to stop, she told police.

Then Gomez blocked his bedroom door so she couldn’t leave, the report said. She was able to leave and drove to a shopping center and called her mother.

Police found Gomez in his apartment, and he was transported to the Middletown police department for questioning. He later admitted to the crime, police said. He was charged with rape.

Police removed numerous items, including clothing, a towel and bedding from the apartment. Police also found “different piles of cash” in the apartment, the report said. More than $2,000 in cash was located, police said.
