Gregory Allen Briggs, 29, was arrested last week by the Blytheville Police Department.

An Arkansas teacher is accused of raping and stalking a child, according to police.

According to WHBQ-TV, Gregory Allen Briggs, 29, was arrested last week by the Blytheville Police Department.

Briggs is listed as a seventh-grade mathematics teacher on the Blytheville Middle School website.

The school district provided the following statement:

"The Blytheville School District is cooperating with law enforcement in this matter. We are aware of his arrest and this individual is currently on administrative leave pending further investigation."

Briggs has been charged with rape, internet stalking of a child and sexually grooming a child, according to police.

No bond amount has been set.
