It was up to Butler County Deputy Fire Chief Melvin Linot to charm the reptile out of the living room sofa. Linot, who has worked for the department since 1975, was equal to the task.
The resident in Rose Hill had called 911 after finding the snake inside a duplex, KAKE reported.
The resident, who had lived in the duplex for four years, never owned a snake and was unsure how it got into the residence, WDAF reported.
If the snake is yours, call (316) 776-0401, authorities said.
