Police officials said a woman went to authorities May 13 and reported being assaulted by Holmes, whom she met on a dating app.
"The victim advised detectives that the two went out on a date and Holmes sexually assaulted her," Tuscon police officials said. "The investigation uncovered multiple victims with similar reports occurring from January 2012 to January 2019."
A warrant was obtained for Holmes’ arrest and he was taken into custody Tuesday, authorities said. Detectives continue to investigate Holmes’ past.
A U.S. Customs and Border Protection spokesperson told KGUN in Tuscon that Holmes, who has been with Border Patrol since 2012, has been placed on administrative duties pending the outcome of the investigation.
"We do not tolerate misconduct on, or off duty, and will fully cooperate with all investigations of alleged misconduct by our personnel," the spokesperson said in a statement.
Tuscon police officials ask anyone with information about Holmes to call 88-CRIME (27463).
