Michael's classmates held paper hearts and offered the boy messages of support on his special day. As WZZM was speaking to Michael's adopted father, Michael chimed in and said, "I love my daddy so much!"

Thursday marked the 23rd annual Adoption Day in Kent County, WZZM reported. Santa was present for the festivities and greeted all 36 participating families. The Michigan Supreme Court mentioned Michael in a tweet, saying the court was glad he got to share his special day.
