Saw this as we were leaving tonight! Yikes! The wind had very suddenly picked up so i wonder if the malfunction was due to the high winds.

It was because of weather, park officials told WKYC.
Cedar Point spokesman Tony Clark released a statement to WKYC Thursday saying one train did not complete the ride because of weather. "The train came to a stop on a section of track near the main entrance. The ride's safety systems engaged as designed and an additional train was stopped on the lift hill."
Park employees escorted riders from both trains.
The GateKeeper opened in 2013, WJW reported. It has a height of 170 feet, goes 67 MPH and is about 2 minutes long, according to the park's official website. It's located at the front of the park above the entrance plaza.
