The workers were pouring concrete on the seventh floor of the hotel, located north of downtown Houston, when part of the floor collapsed, sending them to the sixth floor below, Houston Fire Department Deputy Chief Richard Galvan told KTRK. The workers suffered various injuries, including broken bones and lacerations, and were taken to area hospitals, Galvan told the television station.

Two of the nine workers injured were able to climb down to the fifth floor of the hotel, the Chronicle reported. Firefighters rescued them by using the bucket of a ladder truck, the newspaper reported.
