Brett Favre has not thrown a pass in an NFL game in a decade, but the Hall of Fame quarterback still knows how to make an impact.

Favre, a Mississippi native, posted a video of encouragement to the staff of a senior living facility in his home state, as they keep residents isolated during the coronavirus pandemic, WLBT reported.

The video was sent to Chad Polk, executive director at The Blake at Flowood, the television station reported.

“I just wanted to encourage you -- the staff -- to keep doing what you’re doing. Many people appreciate the work that you’re doing, and I know it’s difficult,” Favre said in the video. "These are unprecedented times, but what you’re doing is heroic and I know it’s not the safest thing as well. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

Officials at the assisted living facility said that none of the staff or residents have tested positive for the coronavirus.
