Coronavirus: Diaper banks help families who can’t find baby supplies

According to the National Diaper Bank Network, babies go though six to 12 diapers every day, and with the COVID-19 pandemic, the supplies needed may not be available as people panic shop trying to prepare for the unknown.

Communities across the country have set up diaper banks to help those who may not be able to find or afford diapers during the outbreak, get the diapers that children have to have.

In New York, The Central New York Diaper Bank collects diapers for families who can't afford it. They are now asking for monetary donations to be able to buy diapers, and get them immediately to families in need, WSYR reported.

The Texas Diaper Bank also needs diapers, specifically sizes 3, 5 and 6, but they are also in need of menstrual pads, incontinence products and wipes, KSAT reported. For more information, click here.

An Atlanta group is using Amazon to help restock diapers, formula and wipes for families in need, WSB reported.

In San Antonio, the food bank put together prep kits and distributed them through food pantries and senior centers, as well as mobile events. The group also allowed people to visit its warehouse to pick up the bags of food, hand sanitizer, cleaning supplies and pet food. The kits cost about $5, the San Antonio Current reported.
