“She has viewers from California to Kentucky. It’s just amazing. I can’t believe it,” Gracie’s mother, Dulinda McFarland, told the television station.
Gracie's mother works in health care, so they have been living separately for a month as a safety precaution. Gracie found a way to connect with her mother -- and others -- by choosing one of her favorite books and reading them on Facebook Live, WXIN reported. Gracie uses her mother's account to read the stories.
“I just like making people happy," Gracie told the television station. “People are bored now and don’t have anything to look forward to.”
Every night, Gracie chooses one of her favorite books and reads it at 7 p.m. Her audience ranges from a few dozen people to even hundreds.
Gracie said she does not reveal her book selection until she goes online, but is open to requests, WXIN reported.
