Coronavirus: Rachael Ray donates $4 million to COVID-19 relief efforts

TV host Rachael Ray has pledged $4 million to coronavirus relief efforts, her charities announced this week.

According to the websites of the lifestyle mogul's nonprofits, the Rachael Ray Foundation and Yum-o!, the two organizations "are collectively donating" the money "for a COVID-19 relief plan to help support American families."

"The $4 million donation in combined commitments from both organizations is being directed to help fund critically needed food programs and support services for two-legged and four-legged family members alike, delivered through a network of national-reaching and regionally-focused organizations across the US," the foundation said in a news release.

Half the funds will go toward charities benefiting children and families, including Feeding America, Share Our StrengthWorld Central KitchenNational Restaurant Association Educational Foundation and other organizations, the release said. The rest of the money will be distributed to animal welfare groups through the Rachael Ray Save Them All Grants COVID-19 Relief Program at Best Friends Animal Society.
