Coronavirus: Who is hiring now?

While the country continues to prepare, and practice, social distancing and self-quarantine during the COVID-19 pandemic, companies are looking for workers to help restock empty shelves and deliver orders to home-bound customers.

Amazon made headlines this week when the company announced it is looking to hire 100,000 workers for warehouse and delivery positions.

But Amazon is not the only company looking for workers.

Reuters reported that grocery store companies like AlbertsonsKroger and Raley's are looking for employees to fill online orders, and are appealing to those workers in the travel, restaurant and entertainment industries who are currently out of a job because of the coronavirus.

MarketWatch reported other companies are hiring cleaners to scrub and sanitize businesses.

Instacart is adding 300,000 shoppers, considered independent contractors, CNN reported. The hirings are in direct response to the demands the coronavirus has had on the online shopping service and will happen over the next three months.
