A football player for Eastern Kentucky University has been suspended from his team after body slamming a police officer in Grove City, Ohio.
Michael Harris, a redshirt sophomore, was arrested on at least four charges including felony assault. Additional charges were resisting arrest, obstructing official business and disorderly conduct while intoxicated, according to WBNS-TV.
“Understanding that details of the incident are still under investigation, and, abiding by FERPA laws and regulations, we must respect the privacy of our students. When the facts are established, and the investigation complete, Eastern Kentucky University and EKU Athletics will decide how to move forward responsibly,” Eastern Kentucky University said in a statement to WBNS-TV.
Video captured from a Grove City police car shows Harris grabbing an officer and lifting him above his shoulders before falling onto the officer. No one was hurt according to ESPN.
