Hernandez called 911, and when police arrived on the scene they discovered that thieves had cut a hole in the roof to gain access to the restaurant, according to KSAT.
The store’s safe had not been broken into, and Montelongo believes the delivery truck scared off the thieves.
“The manager said that he has cameras and when we pulled up, (the criminals) ran out the back door,” Montelongo told the television station.
Hernandez said he thought it was strange the thieves had broken into the restaurant, when a cellphone store full of electronics was next door.
"It's weird," Hernandez told KSAT. "I mean, I wouldn't (do it)."
