A dog brought its owner an unnerving surprise -- a human skull.
The Gibson County Sheriff's Office said a dog gave its owner the skull which it found in a wooded area in Gibson County, Tennessee, Saturday, the Jackson Sun reported.
A search of the area didn't turn up any additional remains, WBBJ reported.
The skull was given to the medical examiner to try to find out the person's age, gender, race and how long the skull was in the woods, WBBJ reported.
The FBI, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and local police were involved in the investigation, the Sun reported.
