NEW DETAILS:

At a time when President Donald Trump’s popularity with voters is declining, Vice President Mike Pence will deliver a speech Saturday before a group of business people at an electronic manufacturing services company in suburban Columbus.

Pence, who will at the event be joined by Rep. Pat Tiberi, R-Genoa Township and Sen. Rob Portman, R-Ohio, will tour the DynaLab manufacturing facility before delivering a formal speech in the early afternoon.

DynaLab employs more than 300 people at its Reynoldsburg facility.

Trump carried Ohio by a much more comfortable margin last November against Democratic Hillary Clinton than his closer victories in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.

Tiberi and Pence are longtime friends, having both been elected to the House in 2000. Portman is expected to introduce Pence to the crowd.

Pence's trip also takes place as Trump is feuding with Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Urbana, a member of the conservative House Freedom Caucus. Trump has tweeted criticism of Jordan for his opposition to a bill backed by Trump which would have scrapped the 2010 health law known as Obamacare. Trump tweeted "if the congressman "would get on board we would have both great healthcare and massive tax cuts & reform."

EARLIER REPORT: Vice President Mike Pence may visit Ohio this weekend, according to Federal Aviation Administration records reviewed by this newsroom.

Additional flight restrictions are in place above a residential neighborhood area in Reynoldsburg, a Columbus suburb. The three overlapping flight restrictions last from 11:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.

Though details are not yet released, Pence’s potential visit would come amid a new political battle between President Donald Trump and members of the House Freedom Caucus, whose members include Congressman Jim Jordan, of Urbana, and Warren Davidson, of Troy.

This news outlet has asked the Office of the Vice President to provide more details about the potential visit. We’ll provide more details as they become available.
