It wasn’t a stool pigeon. Just a well-trained parrot.

Deputies in Florida responded Dec. 29 to a report of a woman screaming for help at a Lake Worth Beach residence. What they found was a chirpy parrot named Rambo, WPTV reported.

"Hilarity ensued," officials with the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office wrote on its Facebook page.

The parrot's owner was in his driveway, fixing the brakes on his wife's car when police arrived, WPTV reported.

According to a YouTube video description, the man said he taught Rambo to yell "help, help, let me out" when he was younger and the parrot lived in a cage.

"I had my 40-year-old parrot, Rambo, on his outside perch where he sings and talks," the Sheriff's Office quoted the man on its Facebook page. "Sometime later four police officers showed up saying a neighbor called because she heard a woman screaming for help. I promptly introduced the officers to Rambo and we all had a good laugh."

The video shows the man bringing Rambo to the driveway, and the deputies chuckle and leave.

"Afterward, I also introduced Rambo to the neighbor who called in the screaming," the man was quoted as saying in the Facebook post.
