"Frozen 2," the studio's animated sequel to the 2013 blockbuster, brought in more big numbers, earning $130 million in North America over Thanksgiving weekend, CNN reported.

The movie, starring Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff and Josh Gad, earned another $85.2 million over its second Friday-Sunday weekend and $124 million over the holiday, which includes numbers from Wednesday through Sunday, according to Forbes. That comes after the film pulled in $130 million for the Friday-Sunday weekend after it opened Nov. 22.

"Disney's pitch-perfect 2019 strategy once again continues to pay huge dividends," Paul Dergarabedian, senior media analyst at Comscore, told CNN.

"Frozen 2" also earned $164 million overseas during the weekend for a $415 million total. The film already has topped $738.6 million in sales, according to Forbes.

"Granted, it's not easy following up on the first film," Disney distribution chief Cathleen Taff told The Hollywood Reporter. "Six years is a pretty big gap, but the length of time doesn't matter when people feel invested in the characters."

The film's second-week numbers mark the biggest non-opening weekend for an animated film, topping the $80 million pulled in by "Incredibles 2," Forbes reported.
