Boss had spent 280 days in the shelter after his former family gave him up.
Once the holiday-themed image was posted on Wednesday, the Atlanta Humane Society encouraged supporters to share it in hopes of finding a new home.
After more than 43,000 shares and 900 comments a potential forever home was found. Boss, 9, met with a family and has been adopted, according to the Humane Society.
