Phoenix Police Department spokeswoman Sgt. Maggie Cox said the Lincoln Town Car was traveling at "high speeds" in the center lane of a Phoenix street when it struck Nester Lopez, 17, who was crossing the street, according to the Republic.
Nester was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, KNXV reported.
Cox said the Lincoln Town car fled the scene and ran a red light two blocks away and collided with a 2007 Scion Couple driven by Edgar Ferral-Lopez, 28, the Republic reported.
Ferral-Lopez also was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead, KNXV reported.
The driver fled from the Lincoln Town Car after Ferral-Lopez was struck, KPNX reported. Police said the investigation is ongoing.
A GoFundMe page has been set up for Ferral-Lopez.
