Entertainment Weekly, however, reported Harington checked into a Connecticut "luxury rehab for stress and alcohol use."
Harington portrayed Jon Snow over the series’ eight seasons, spanning almost nine years. “Game of Thrones” premiered on HBO in 2011 with the series finale airing on May 19.
A behind the scenes feature was aired May 26.
Many fans were left disappointed with not only the final season, but also the final episode and where the characters had ended their character arcs.
Harington’s Snow was sentenced to return to the Wall after he killed Daenerys.
Entertainment Weekly said that Harington has been dealing with the show's ending and that his wife, Rose Leslie, whom he met on "Game of Thrones" and was Snow's love interest, "is being extremely supportive."
The final filming was an emotional roller coaster for Harington. He described what he went through during an interview with Esquire magazine.
“My final day of shooting, I felt fine ... I felt fine ... I felt fine ... Then I went to do my last shots and started hyperventilating a bit. Then they called, ‘Wrap!’ and I just (expletive) broke down. It was this onslaught of relief and grief about not being able to do this again,” Harington said.
He also described to Esquire when he was finally removing himself from Snow, or more like when Snow was removed from him.
“But the weirdest bit was when we came off set and they started taking the costume off and it felt like being skinned. I felt like they were unceremoniously, for the last time, ripping off this character. I was still blubbering my tears. The costume girls were like, ‘(Expletive), come on, get it together,’ I’m being very actorly and crying. I remember going, ‘Wait, wait, wait!’ And they wouldn’t. They just ripped. I was like, ‘I need to say goodbye’ but it was too late. He was gone.”
