The 36-year-old Louisiana-born singer, whose legal name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., was supposed to open for Blink-182 at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre, the Tampa Bay Times reported.
But at 5:37 p.m. Friday -- less than two hours before he was to take the stage -- Lil Wayne tweeted "feeling under the weather ... and kant (sic) go. Promise I'll make it up to you guys."

Blink-182 performed as scheduled.
Lil Wayne's announcement comes after rumors surfaced that the rapper would drop out of the tour, WFTS reported.
Two weeks ago, the rapper ended his set early during a concert in Virginia, walking off the stage after 20 minutes.
The tour continues tonight in Atlanta, with 20 more stops after that before ending in Camden, New Jersey, on Aug. 18.
