A witness who didn't want to appear on camera told WSB he was sitting at the bar with his close friend and co-worker, Leon Danzis, when a stranger with a pool cue started to attack them.
That attacker hit Danzis in the head with the pool stick.
The witness was treated in an emergency room for a concussion and broken ribs.
Danzis, 45, died at the hospital after police found him with life-threatening injuries.
The witness told WSB his friend was the victim of a completely random act of violence.
Police are still working to figure out who was involved in the brawl. According to witnesses, other people were hurt in the chaos that ensued.
Management at Canton Icehouse did not comment to WSB, citing the ongoing police investigation.
