Police responded to the center at about 4 a.m. when an employee reported a man outside the facility armed with a rifle.

It was reported that the man was throwing "incendiary devices" at the center and at cars in the parking lot, setting a vehicle on fire.

The man then attempted to light a large propane tank and set buildings on fire, police said.

Officers arrived, located the suspect and fired shots, hitting the suspect. In addition to the rifle, officers said he was wearing a satchel and had flares.

The suspect was determined deceased at the scene. No officers were injured in the shooting. The officers involved will be placed on standard administrative leave.

The investigation is ongoing.
