A alleged wallet thief almost got away with his crime, but a savvy Seattle man used his smartphone to help police get it back.
When Andrew Steelsmith discovered his wallet was missing, he logged onto his bank account from his phone. He then noticed someone was making charges on his bank cards.
Steelsmith then used his phone to track a transaction at a local restaurant.
He called 911 and then asked a server if she had seen the alleged thief.
In response to the 911 call, police tracked down the man's location.
Officers then found the suspect and chased him down.
Police said the officers held him down and found Steelsmith’s wallet.
The wallet and cards were returned to Steelsmith.
