Michigan man charged with murder in death of girlfriend’s 8-month-old baby

A Michigan man is facing a murder charge after police said he killed his girlfriend’s infant son.

According to WZZM-TV, police arrested Jermaine Abron, 25, of Grand Rapids, on Friday, two days after authorities discovered 8-month-old Josiah Lamarr Guyton unresponsive in a Front Avenue home. Doctors at a nearby hospital pronounced the baby dead.

Medical examiners said the child had suffered a head injury caused by blunt-force trauma, WZZM reported.

Abron, who was dating the baby's mother, also was charged with first-degree child abuse, according to WWMT-TV. He is due in court Monday.
