The body of a Michigan woman missing since October has been located on her family’s property, authorities confirmed Monday.

Adrienne Quintal, 47, had not been heard from since calling a friend two months ago to say she was involved in a shootout with two men at a remote cabin, yet authorities told the Detroit Free Press there was "no sign of foul play" when her body was found on the Up North property.

"We are confident because of identifying marks such as scars and a tattoo on her right ankle that the body is in fact that of Adrienne Quintal," Benzie County Undersheriff Kyle Rosa told the newspaper, noting the medical examiner must still compare X-rays to verify the identification.

The medical examiner is also awaiting toxicology results before making a final determination on the cause of death, CNN reported.

In a news release, the Benzie County Sheriff's Office said Quintal’s friends and family found her body fully submerged while searching a flooded area along the north branch of the Platte River near the cabin where she is believed to have made the October phone call.

According to CNN, the sheriff's office confirmed Quintal placed the call around 2:30 a.m. Oct. 17 asking for help and claiming she had shot one man in the face, but another man continued to shoot at her. She asked the friend to call police, but when they arrived at the cabin about 250 miles northwest of Detroit, Quintal could not be located.

Deputies did find bullet holes in the windows, spent shell casings, a handgun registered to Quintal and personal belongings, including her cell phone, purse and car, CNN reported.

Her cell phone and boots were actually found on the cabin's roof, the Free Press reported.

Neither blood nor evidence of injury was present at the cabin, CNN reported.
