Lisa DiNoto got the kids on the bus then hopped in the car and drove the less than two miles to get to Magic Kingdom.
"It seemed totally natural to pop into Magic Kingdom after I dropped the boys off at school to take a fun 'Celebrating Being Here Alone' moment," DiNoto told "Good Morning America."
DiNoto had one of the park's "I'm Celebrating" pins customized to say that she was marking the first day of school and asked cast members to pose for a photo with the badge of honor.
Even the park character cast members got into the celebration, including the Fairy Godmother who gave DiNoto a bag of pixie dust as she laughed so hard that she was tearing up, GMA reported.
DiNoto may be inspiring other parents who are looking for some magic alone time.
She said one mom saw her pin and told her, "You are my life goal. Have the most amazing day you've ever had and do it for all of us," "Good Morning America" reported.
But, DiNoto isn't the only mom celebrating surviving the long summer days.
Hillary Dunham has staged clever photos to mark the first day back to class for seven years, AL.com reported.
This year she features her three children: Owen, 14, Harris, 11, and Ellie, 9, preparing for the day with a hearty and haggard breakfast as Dunham dreams of the perfect meal to start the day.
And a group of moms had donuts and grape juice in the form of wine for "breakfast" as they wished their children well for the first day back to their classrooms, the South Florida Sun Sentinel reported.
Shawna Genua told the newspaper, "Between the four of us, we have 18 kids. They've been home since May. We are so ready for them to go back. We got the idea to do the photo because other people were posting sad pictures of their kids going back to school on Facebook. We were like, 'Why are you sad? We are FREE again!'"
