MLive reported that Michigan State Police said the initial autopsy, conducted Saturday, didn't identify a cause of death. Authorities are now waiting for toxicology results, which could take 30 days or longer.
According to WOOD, the child is the couple's daughter. She was in critical condition at Helen DeVos Children's Hospital. Police said she was severely dehydrated and likely left there alone for up to three days. WOOD reported the baby is expected to make a full recovery, but it is not known who will take custody of her once she is released from the hospital.
WWMT reported that state police ask anyone who had contact with Bramer and Reed after May 14 to contact Detective Sgt. Denise Bentley at 616-866-4411.
