Mother leaves 3 children in freezing car while she gets spa treatment, police say

When police arrived at the house around 6:30 p.m., Campbell told them she would come out when her eyebrows were done. Campbell told police she was not going to be long and did not think it was necessary to take the children inside.

"(The 11-year-old) hasn't seen or heard from (Campbell) in over an hour," Macomb County Prosecutor Eric Smith told WXYZ. "They knock on the door and the homeowner says, 'Yeah, she's here. She's getting a spa treatment.'"

She was arrested and charged with child abuse, WXYZ reported.

Campbell’s mother took custody of the children.
