New England Patriots defensive end Chase Winovich paid off the entire free and reduced lunch debt for students in Pennsylvania's West Jefferson Hills School District, officials said Friday.

Winovich grew up in South Hills and played football for Thomas Jefferson High School, part of the West Jefferson Hills School District. During a bye week earlier in the NFL season, he visited a Thomas Jefferson football game and took some pictures with fans.

"Growing up in TJ, the community has always been so important to me," Winovich said in a statement shared by school district officials. "It's great to be able to give back during the holidays!"
