On Nov. 1, 1999, Matt Hasselbeck was the Green Bay Packers’ backup quarterback to Brett Favre, Mike Holmgren was in his first year as the Seattle Seahawks’ coach and Russell Wilson was a month shy of his 11th birthday. That was the last time the Seahawks won a game at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

The Seahawks will be looking to end their Lambeau Field drought when they face the Packers in an NFC divisional round playoff game Sunday.

“I don’t think you can connect a fan base with your team any tighter than you can do it there. (Packer fans) do a great job of knowing how to be a factor," Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said Monday of playing in Green Bay. “Then there’s conditions too that go along with it. Early in the year it’s not a big deal, but late in the year the conditions can be a factor that you can’t copy.”

Seattle is coming off a 17-9 road victory against the Philadelphia Eagles in the wild-card round.

The Seahawks had a season-high seven sacks, Russell Wilson had 370 total yards and DK Metcalf had a Seahawks playoff record 160 yards receiving in the win.

It was just the fourth road playoff victory in franchise history, and the Seahawks are now 8-1 on the road this season, KIRO7 reported. With a win Sunday, the Seahawks would become just the third team in NFL history to win nine road games in a single season.

The only other teams to earn nine road victories in a season won the Super Bowl: the 2007 New York Giants and the 2005 Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Packers (13-3) are coming off a bye week after securing the No. 2 seed in the NFC.

The Packers are led by quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who has thrown 26 touchdowns to only four interceptions this season. Running back Aaron Jones finished with 1,084 yards and tied for the NFL lead with 19 total touchdowns in the regular season.

On defense, Za’Darius Smith and Preston Smith combined for 25.5 of the team’s 41 sacks in the regular season.

The Packers lead the all-time series against the Seahawks 13-9.
