A preflight check revealed an unusual stowaway: an owl sleeping in a jet engine.
The owl was found during the check of a Virgin Australia flight, the airline said Thursday on social media.
“This owl didn’t give a hoot where it napped,” the airline said. “Our team of engineers rescued it and it was checked out before being safely released back into the wild.”
