Police: Drug debt motivates 12-year-old to rob woman using BB gun

The woman reported that the boy had a gun that he showed her by pulling up his sweatshirt.

“He just approached me and took what I purchased at Speedway,” she said to a dispatcher in a 911 call.

When the dispatcher asked if the boy pointed the alleged gun at her she said, "He showed me the gun."

She was also able to give police the boy’s first name and age.

Officers tracked him to a home nearby and found the alleged gun used in the robbery, which they determined to be a BB gun.

Both the boy and woman told police that the robbery was the result of a drug debt that the woman owed to the boy, said police. Robbery charges have been filed against the boy.

He is being held in the Montgomery County Juvenile Detention Center.
