Police seize 18 pounds of cocaine in north Alabama drug bust

A north Alabama man was arrested Friday and charged with drug trafficking after authorities seized more than 18 pounds of cocaine in the trunk of a vehicle he was driving, authorities said.

Terrell Clayton Brown, 50, of Tuscumbia, was charged with trafficking in cocaine, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency. He was booked into the Colbert County Jail, WAFF reported.

According to ALEA agent Adam Buchanan, the agency received a tip that a large amount of cocaine was going to be delivered to a location in Muscle Shoals, AL.com reported. On Friday, Brown arrived at the location and was approached by state agents, the website reported.

Agents said they found several ounces of cocaine in the passenger seat of Brown's vehicle, WAFF reported. Agents then searched other parts of the vehicle and found 18 pounds of cocaine in the trunk, the television station reported.

Buchanan said the drugs have a street value of more than $800,000 and represent about 8,000 single uses, AL.com reported.
