The bottles have a black base and cover over the clear spout and come in three sizes -- 13-ounce, 14-ounce and 20-ounce. Only bottles with the black base and cover are affected.
"Contigo identified that the water bottle's clear silicone spout in some cases may detach from the lid posing a potential choking hazard," the Chicago-based company said on its website Wednesday.
The bottles were available through Costco, Walmart, Target and other stores nationwide and online from April 2018 through Feb. 7, 2020, the CPSC reported.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled water bottles and the replacement lids provided in the previous recall, the CPSC said. The bottles should be taken away from children, and consumers should contact Contigo for a free water bottle, the agency said in its release. Consumers who received replacement lids in the August 2019 recall should contact Contigo for the new water bottle.
