Colorado really knows how to light up the night sky.

Steamboat Springs, Colorado, broke a world record with a 2,800-pound shell, The Steamboat Pilot reported.

It ended up flying 2,200 feet above the Springs Winter Carnival. When it exploded, it filled the dark sky with red.

The previous record was 2,397 pounds and was launched in the United Arab Emirates in 2018, The Associated Press reported.
