He's going to the Rose Bowl to watch his beloved Nittany Lions on Jan. 2, and his emotions spilled over when he saw the tickets.
Yockey, a manager for training and development at Pitt Ohio Express in Pennsylvania, broke into tears when he opened a box given to him by family members. Inside was a bowl filled with red roses.
“What is it, Dad?” asks one of his children.
“I don’t know, it’s a rose bowl,” he says before realizing the gift symbolizes tickets that will send him on a trip to Pasadena to watch Big Ten champion Penn State face USC at the Rose Bowl.
Yockey breaks into tears as his wife Becky repeats, “We’re going to the Rose Bowl!”
The surprises weren’t over. Yockey later received a telephone call from Penn State coach James Franklin, who thanked him for his passion and promised to send him “a care package full of stuff.”
